What is Front Porch Threads?

Front porch threads is a mending and upcycling experiment. The goal of this experiment is to help people connect to the textiles in their wardrobes and homes in new ways, to make their own closets more circular, and to find creative ways to re-use textile waste.

So far this project has taken many forms. I’m on instagram and tiktok @frontporchthreads; and I’ve run and volunteered at many in-person events across nyc focused on slow fashion and repair. I’m looking forward to having a space for more organized musings on this substack, and to engage in a social media platform that’s a little slower in pace.
